Consciousness is the place where you will see us transforming from consumers to conscious-consumers. We will post our actions, tips, solutions and news about sustainable development. Our goal is to initiate you in it by showing our transformation step by step. Small steps = big impact!
First of all I want to tell you the why and how of this blog! I want to tell how I got the idea, what it means to me and why now. Since little I am surrounded by the nature. I am grown up in a village surrounded by vines, in a small country that is always represented by cows lost in the mountains! Furthermore, my country of origin, where I have spent a huge part of my childhood and whom customs, traditions and values have forged me, is dominated by the nature and the life there “follows” the nature.
Sustainable development is the use of resources (like water, fuel, energy) to meet the needs of the present without compromising the same resources for future generations to meet their own needs. If we leave future generations to enjoy nature and richness of our planet we must create sustainable livelihoods and be responsible and respectful of the environment. Everyone can help make our planet a better place. Therefore, it is necessary to know the impact of our activities and try to reduce them (Sebastian del Valle, my excellent coach towards a sustainable lifestyle).
Another way is to calculate your carbon emissions. What we are doing is compensating these emissions by buying carbon credits thanks to ALLCOT (link to Allcot info article by clicking), which are put in the RMLDT (link to article by clicking) project, our Brazilian Rosewood Amazon Conservation project.
